Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

HOME LIFESTYLE

Happy Valentine’s Day! I really like this love filled holiday. My husband and I give each other cards and I tend to buy a bit more chocolate than usual. 🙂 This year we have a toddler so we won’t be going out to dinner, but we have some special items from Pike Place Market that we will enjoy for dinner.

For me, Valentine’s Day is great excuse to spend extra time with my husband and have a date night in. I think it’s fun to be creative and come up with unique date ideas that don’t cost a lot of money. Here are a few ideas on what you and your loved one could do today for Valentine’s Day or on any day really!

  1. Picnic – This is always a fun date and really simple too. Just pack up some of your favorite foods in a picnic basket, don’t forget utensils and napkins, and find a cozy spot at the beach or at a pretty outlook and enjoy your food together. This is a great blanket to use on a picnic. Now, being in the PNW this time of year most people won’t be able to do an outdoor picnic since it’s still cold and wet out, but you can get creative at home and do a picnic inside in front of the fireplace or Netflix has an option for a fireplace that you can turn on as well!
  2. Make Dessert Together – I love to bake and it’s even more fun when you do it with your loved ones. Dessert can be really simple, just open a box of brownies. Or if you’re feeling extra festive melt some chocolate in a fondu pot, cut up some fruit and cookies and enjoy. I think I’ll make a chocolate cake this year but now chocolate fondu sounds pretty good too… 🙂
  3. Game Night – This can be a lively game like Jenga or a focused game like chess. Whatever you both enjoy playing is great and offers an opportunity for you to talk but also have fun together at the same time.

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? I would love to hear them in the comments below.
